Redundanzstrategien
Ein dezentrales System benutzt eine vertikale Redundanz, d.h. dass bei Ausfall einer Übertragungsstrecke oder einer Zentralrechnerkomponente das vom Ausfall betroffene Lokalkommandogerät RKS-12 den autonomen Rundsteuerbetrieb für die dort angeschlossenen Rundsteuersender übernimmt.
Redundanz und Verfügbarkeit eines Systems kann durch zentrale und lokale horizontale Redundanz verbessert werden.
Zentrale Redundanz
bedeutet ein redundantes Doppelrechnersystem und, wo sinnvoll, die Doppelung des Fernwirkkopfes RKS-870. Hierbei ist eine vollständige Sicherung gegen zentrale Systemausfälle gegeben.
Lokale Redundanz
bedeutet: ein redundanter Aufbau der Übertragungstechnik oder der eigenständigen Lokalkommandogeräte des Typs RKS-12.
